Each time I write a story, it seems there is another reason to be grateful. I meet so many special people doing amazing things who share their stories and their hearts. I learn new facts and come away inspired.
Our log reindeer memories are not only a reminder of days gone by, but proof that the old saying is true. Where there is a will, there will be a way. I learned, by being creative, I could always bring in the extra cash we needed. My cousin, Joanne, and I ended up starting a wood craft business called Country Cousin Crafts. We set up at craft shows and had a lot of fun.
While watching television I saw something so cool. A lady had put a basket of snacks on her porch with a sign thanking her delivery guys and inviting them to help their self to a snack. My husband and I looked at each other. “What a great idea!”
Kids and animals really are the best part of life, aren’t they? Seeing their happiness and chatting with the children as they petted the ponies or climbed onboard was inspirational for me, and I hope it gave them a memory to treasure.

Carroll County residents of all ages recently came together around a bonfire, sharing songs, s’mores, conversation and more, when Carroll Lutheran Village invited Girl Scouts to join them to celebrate Active Aging Week.
The 2019 Carroll County CROP Hunger Walk will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 13, with registration beginning at 1:30 p.m. The well-marked 3-mile route begins and ends at Grace Lutheran Church, 21 Carroll Street, in Westminster with two rest stops at area churches and refreshments served after the walk.
