The Moravians: One Faith, Two Worlds

SIKONGE, TANZANIA -- Bethlehem's Central Moravian Church member Mia Mengel, of Upper Nazareth Township, holds onto Wamedi Modesti, 1, as she visits with women and their children outside the children's ward of Sikonge District Hospital in Sikonge, Tanzania on Tuesday, June 27, 2006. The Hospital, which was built by the Moravian Church, is now run by the government -- although the property still belongs to the church. Scores of toddlers and young children are treated for malaria. After treatment, they are released in 3 or 4 days.
