Alex Mann named Baltimore courts reporter

Alex Mann will move from the emerging news desk to cover Baltimore courts and the state’s attorney’s office.

Alex joined The Sun from The Capital in December 2020. During his time as an emerging news reporter, he’s covered a wide range of topics, from the rollout of the COVID vaccine to the plight of Afghan refugees in Maryland. Among his notable work, he spearheaded thoughtful and at times very painful coverage of the Capital Gazette murder trial to tell a series of stories about our colleagues, the man who killed them and his efforts to trick the legal system.

Born in Washington, Alex grew up in Anne Arundel County. He is a 2018 graduate of the University of Maryland’s Philip Merrill College of Journalism. Before joining The Sun, he covered crime and courts for The Capital and local government for the Carroll County Times.
