Outgoing British Prime Minister David Cameron thanks his colleagues in parliament as he leaves, following last month's referendum to leave the European Union British Prime Minister David Cameron prepared to ceremonially tender his resignation to Queen Elizabeth II on Wednesday, less than three weeks after the electorate defied his wishes and voted to abandon the European Union, sending the country into uncharted political and economic territory.
