It's a show, based on a film, based on a book. Yes, the Mobile Army Surgical Hospital that we saw for 11 years may have centered around the Korean Conflict, but it was more about the human condition in a time of war. And when Henry Blake said farewell to the series after three seasons in a fiery plane crash over the Sea of Japan, it broke everyone's heart. Luckily, fans kept watching even when Wayne Rogers (Trapper John McIntyre) said goodbye without saying bye to Hawkeye ( Alan Alda). |
