Willie Nelson and Jessica Simpson are set for a family reunion.
The country icon, who co-starred with the starlet in "The Dukes of Hazzard," has signed on for her latest film, "Blonde Ambition."
According to The Hollywood Reporter,, he will play Simpson's grandfather in the loose remake of 1988's "Working Girl." In the film, Simpson plays a young woman who gets caught in middle of the Machiavellian machinations of two business execs who plan to overthrow the head of an international conglomerate.
Larry Miller has also been cast as the conglomerate's CEO. The two join Luke Wilson, Rachael Leigh Cook, Andy Dick and Penelope Ann Miller.
The project is shooting in New York and Shreveport, La.
Nelson last played Uncle Jesse to Simpson's Daisy Duke in the big-screen adaptation of "The Dukes of Hazzard." Although Nelson, 73, can be heard on numerous soundtracks, he's only appeared in a handful of films, including "The Electric Horseman," "Barbarosa," "Songwriter," "Dust to Dust," "Starlight," "The Big Bounce" and "Half Baked" as the "historian smoker."Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
