Tara and her alters will continue to bring a little personality to the cable landscape.
Showtime has ordered up a second season of its hit drama "United States of Tara," it was announced Tuesday, Feb. 10.

"This is a perfect fit for our premium brand and we're thrilled that critics and audiences have responded to this groundbreaking show so well," says Robert Greenblatt, Showtime's entertainment chief. "I look forward to many more alternate personalities emerging from this unique series."
The 12 new episodes will begin shooting this summer to air in early 2010.
The premiere of "Tara" reached 2.67 million subscirbers, outperforming Showtime's other hit series including " Weeds," " Californication," "Dexter" and "The Tudors" in their premiere weeks.
