You hear "executive produced by Chuck Lorre," and your mind tends to go the crude, easy, sex-and-body-functions jokes of a "Two and a Half Men." And yeah, the show's bawdier moments can wear thin at times. But "Mom" also has a not-inconsiderable amount of realness at its core, brought expertly to life by leads Anna Faris and Allison Janney. That the two of them are also gifted comic actresses -- seriously, who knew the erstwhile CJ Cregg was so good at pratfalls? -- helps a whole bunch too.
