'Saving Hope'

Premieres: Thursday, June 7 at 10 p.m. ET on NBC

Why we're watching: This Canadian import is a medical procedural with a supernatural bent. Michael Shanks plays a surgeon in a coma who roams the halls of his hospital not knowing whether he's dead or alive. Meanwhile, his fiancee Alex (Erica Durance) and star surgeon Joel Goran (Daniel Gillies) try to keep hope alive as they continue with day-to-day hospital life. ABC's Canadian series "Rookie Blue" does well in the summers, so there's no reason that this one, with such a stellar cast (Gillies and Durance are standouts from The CW's hits "Vampire Diaries" and "Smallville"), shouldn't do the same for NBC.
