"Sherlock Holmes" won't go up against the end of the world.
The re-imagining of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's famous detective has moved its release date from Nov. 19, where it would have faced off against "2012," to Dec. 25, Variety says. The movie follows Holmes (Robert Downey Jr.) and Watson (Jude Law) in more action-oriented roles than Doyle's original stories indicated.
This is the second move for "Sherlock Holmes." The first came when "Twilight" sequel "New Moon" was scheduled for Nov. 30, forcing "Sherlock" to Nov. 13.Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
