It may not seem the stuff of comedy, but the apocalypse really is at hand in this tale of people trying to take care of business before life as we know it ends. Steve Carell plays one such person, a man suddenly deserted by his wife, prompting him to embark on a search for a long-ago love.
Joining him on the trek is a neighbor (Keira Knightley) who wants to reunite with her family while there's still time. Connie Britton ("Nashville") and Melanie Lynskey ("Two and a Half Men") also are in writer-director Lorene Scafaria's ("Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist") cast. *** (R: AS, V) (Also on Blu-ray and Movies on Demand)
