Fast National ratings for Thursday, July 3, 2008.
The latest round of "So You Think You Can Dance" results carried FOX to a slim victory on a slower-than-normal Thursday night.
CBS actually posted the night's highest overall ratings, with a 4.1 rating/8 share, just in front of the 4.0/8 for FOX, but FOX averaged slightly more viewers. NBC was third with a 3.0/6, followed by ABC's 2.4/5 and the 1.1/2 for The CW.
FOX won among adults 18-49 with a 1.7 rating in the key demographic. NBC was a close second with a 1.6 rating, followed by the 1.4 rating for CBS. ABC stayed fourth with a 0.9 rating and The CW's 0.5 was fifth.
With a 3.9/8, "Million Dollar Password" helped CBS start off the night in first place. FOX was second with the 3.6/8 for "Are You Starter Than a 5th Grader." The first hour of "Last Comic Standing" had a 2.9/6 for NBC. ABC's "Ugly Betty" was fourth, still better than 1.2/2 for "Smallville" on The CW.
CBS got a 5.1/10 for "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," though FOX's "So You Think You Can Dance" elimination episode did a 4.3/8 and controlled the hour among adults 18-49. NBC's "Last Comic" improved slightly and finished third, bettering a 2.0/4 for "Grey's Anatomy" on ABC. The CW's "Supernatural" trailed.
At 10 p.m. CBS' "Swingtown" and ABC's "Hopkins" tied with a 3.2/6. NBC's "Fear Itself" did a 2.9/6 to finish close behind.
