Sanchez has signed on to the network's pilot "Football Wives," headlining the latest round of casting at the Alphabet. Two other female-centered shows have also added to their casts, with Frances O'Connor joining Darren Star's "Cashmere Mafia" and Aubrey Dollar becoming part of the "Women's Murder Club," according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Sanchez is set to play the pregnant wife of a rising football star in "Football Wives," ABC's adaptation of the British hit "Footballers Wives." Her past credits include The WB's "Related" and ABC's "Married to the Kellys."
Her casting on "Football Wives," though, depends on the fate of her character, Nikki, on "Lost." She joined the show this season, playing a previously unseen survivor of the Oceanic 815 crash. Her role has been somewhat small thus far, but the show's producers say she and another new character, Paolo (Rodrigo Garcia), will come to the forefront in an upcoming episode.
O'Connor ("AI," HBO's "Iron Jawed Angels") will play one of the lead roles in "Cashmere Mafia," about the friendships of a group of powerful women. It will be the first series work on American TV for the British actress, who joins Miranda Otto in the cast.
"Women's Murder Club" is based on a series of novels by writer James Patterson. Dollar (FOX's "Point Pleasant") will play a crime reporter who solves cases with her friends -- a detective, a prosecutor and a medical examiner.
In "Dirty Sexy Money," Fitzgerald ("Trust the Man," "The Sixth Sense") will pay a member of a wealthy family whose business drives the family lawyer (Peter Krause) to distraction.Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
