Before he established himself in movies by making the likes of "The Pink Panther" and "10," Blake Edwards created and produced one of television's first private-detective classics.
Craig Stevens plays Gunn, as smooth with the ladies - especially nightclub singer Edie Hart (Lola Albright) - as he is tough with criminals. Herschel Bernardi plays his police lieutenant pal, and the level of guest stars is evident right from the first episode, which boasts Gavin MacLeod and Jack Weston. Another big plus for the show: Henry Mancini's Grammy- and Emmy-winning score. DVD extra: CD of Mancini's "Gunn" music. *** (Not rated: AS, V)Copyright © 2014, The Baltimore Sun
