"La Bamba" star Lou Diamond Phillips is thanking heaven for little girls ... again.
The actor and his wife, makeup artist Yvonne Marie, welcomed their first child together last month, reports People.
The baby girl, named Indigo Sanara, was born on Oct. 9.
The couple has had a rocky courtship. In December 2006, the actor was sentenced to three years of probation, 200 hours of community service and a year of domestic violence counseling after he pled no contest to domestic battery. Earlier that summer, the TV/movie star was arguing with his then live-in girlfriend Yvonne when things got physical. She then "was pushed and dragged across the house resulting in scrapes to both knees," says City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo in a statement.
Phillips, 45, was first married to Julie Cypher, who left him for rocker Melissa Etheridge, and then to former makeup artist Kelly Phillips before separating with her last year. Together they have three children: 10-year-old twins Grace and Isabella and 8-year-old Lili Jordan.
Phillips is best known for his film roles in "La Bamba" and "Stand and Deliver," but lately he's been making guest appearances on television series such as "Psych," "Law & Order: SVU," "24" and "Numb3rs."Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
