Vanessa Hudgens will star in the Walden Media coming-of-age dramedy "Will."
This will be another chance for the "High School Musical" star to showcase her melodic chops, as the Todd Graff and Josh Cagan-scripted project focuses on a popular girl and an outcast who come together to form a rock group. Will the story climax in a battle of the bands? You bet it will! No, really. It will.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hudgens play the popular girl in this equation, a former stutterer.
Graff, who directed 2003's "Camp," will be behind the camera.
Hudgens is either best known as Gabriella Montez from the insanely popular "High School Musical" telefilms or from the scandal that brewed last year when a nude picture of the teenage star popped up on the Internet. A third "High School Musical" entry, this one a theatrical release, is in pre-production.
Her other credits include "Thunderbirds" and "Thirteen."
