Award shows aren't his thing
Woody Allen was given the Cecil B. DeMille Award at the 2014 Golden Globes, but was not there to accept it. In fact, he almost turned it down altogether because awards aren't really his thing. However, he decided the award would be good for his latest release, "Blue Jasmine." Friend and frequent collaborator Diane Keaton accepted the award on Allen's behalf, lauding his four decades of "unforgettable female characters" and dropping the rather astoudning statistic that 179 actresses have been in Woody Allen's movies.
