Elisabeth Hasselbeck Returns to 'The View'

Now that the holidays are over, so is maternity leave for Elisabeth Hasselbeck.

"The View" co-host will return to the estrogen-heavy talk show on Monday, Jan. 7, announced ABC.

Hasselbeck, the show's conservative voice, had been missing since Oct. 23 to give birth to her second child with Arizona Cardinals quarterback Tim Hasselbeck. Taylor Thomas was born on Nov. 12, just in time for sweeps. He has an older sister Grace, 2.

Monday's hour-long episode will revolve around "Hot Topics," with a surprise guest joining co-hosts Barbara Walters, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar and Sherri Shepherd.

"She's never shy about expressing her view, so "Hot Topics" will be getting a whole lot hotter –- especially with the upcoming presidential election," says ABC. "Whoopi Goldberg and Sherri Shepard joined the show shortly before Elisabeth left, so there wasn't much opportunity for all five co-hosts to interact. Now there will be a new dynamic at the 'Hot Topics' table."

Hasselbeck, 30, and her husband, 29, moved to Arizona in October, after he signed a contract with the Arizona Cardinals. She took time off for maternity leave and the move.

Hasselbeck first appeared on TV as a contestant on "Survivor: The Australian Outback," finishing fourth. She was also the host for Style's "The Look for Less" before moving to "The View" in 2003.
