Producer Aaron Spelling was one of the kings of television crime shows in the 1970s, and setting such a series in Las Vegas was a no-brainer for him.

ABC gave a healthy run to the Michael Mann-created drama that established Robert Urich as a leading man, and as the driver of a very cool car, as private eye Dan Tanna. Tony Curtis made frequent appearances as the hotel owner who kept Tanna on retainer, and Greg Morris played the police detective who kept close watch on the hero. *** (Not rated: AS, V)
