'Monsters vs. Aliens'

On video, it doesn't have the 3-D aspect it did in theaters, but this animated fantasy still has much to recommend – including a stellar voice cast and, especially in the home stretch, stunning visuals.

Reese Witherspoon voices a bride-to-be whose encounter with a meteor – which makes her a whole lot taller – draws the interest of government officials who team her with other mutants to fight an alien threat.

Kiefer Sutherland, Hugh Laurie ("House"), Seth Rogen, Paul Rudd, Rainn Wilson ("The Office") and Stephen Colbert also are heard.

A multi-disc version also includes "B.O.B.'s Big Break," a new tale that features some of the same characters and is in 3-D. DVD extras: "making-of" documentary; audio commentary by cast and crew members; deleted scenes; music videos. *** (PG: V) (Also on Blu-ray)
