'McMillan & Wife: Season Four'

Since the Rock Hudson-Susan Saint James series about San Francisco's police commissioner and his spouse was part of NBC's "Mystery Movie" anthology in the 1970s, any of its seasons consisted of only a relative handful of episodes.

Six is the number here, and notably, the story "Guilt by Association" - which puts McMillan housekeeper Mildred (Nancy Walker) on a jury - was written by Steven Bochco, later the mentor of such television classics as "Hill Street Blues," "L.A. Law" and "NYPD Blue." Another tale, involving tennis, features flamboyant sport champ Bobby Riggs. *** (Not rated: AS, P, V)
