If the title is familiar, the story surely will be, too. This acceptable update of the popular musical-drama is an almost by-the-numbers revisiting of the tale about a city-bred newcomer (Kenny Wormald) to a town where dancing has been banned.
As he tries to get it reinstated, his main nemesis is a minister (Dennis Quaid) whose rebellious daughter ("Dancing With the Stars" personality Julianne Hough) becomes involved with the outsider. Blake Shelton performs a cover version of the original Kenny Loggins title tune. Andie MacDowell also stars. *** (PG-13: AS, P, V) (Also on Blu-ray and Movies on Demand)Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
