No play clothes made out of curtains. No "Climb Ev'ry Mountain" flight from the Nazis. The whole "Lonely Goatherd" thing? That probably didn't happen, either. But <a href="http://www.archives.gov/publications/prologue/2005/winter/von-trapps.html" target="blank"><b>Maria Augusta Kutschera</b></a> was a nun who became a governess, and she did marry Georg Ludwig von Trapp. That wedding was in 1927, not right before Germany annexed Austria. And though the Von Trapp Family Choir did leave Austria before the Nazis took power, they didn't sneak away over the mountains to Switzerland -- they went on tour to Italy and just didn't come back.
