The creepy "Twisted Nerve" song by Bernard Hermann was playing while Tate walked down the hallway at school, much like Elle Driver on her way to kill the Bride in "Kill Bill Vol. 1." Which was actually an homage to the 1968 thriller "Twisted Nerve," where a young man pretends to be mentally handicapped to get close to a girl. Sound like Tate? "Twisted Nerve" also refers to Down's Syndrome as "mongolism," which is how Constance refers to daughter Addie.
