Paranoid: Hartford Stage in Hartford

Hartford StageArthur MillerTony Awards

The ominous opening of Hartford Stage's season, Arthur Miller's The Crucible, marks the first time in their history they've tackled the 1953 Tony Award-winning play about Goody Proctor and growing witch-related paranoia in Salem at the end of the 17th century. Attend the pre-show dinner on Sept. 6 ($20) and hang out with the costume shop manager and guest artists, who'll discuss the costumes and design of the production.

The Crucible, Sept. 1-25, $42.50-$64.50, Hartford Stage, 50 Church St., Hartford, (860) 527-5151, hartfordstage.org.
