It’s supposed to be a beautiful weekend, so why not spend it outdoors? Here are 8 outdoor events happening around the state this weekend.
City Center Danbury
Festival with booths by environmental organizations, bands, food and more. Bands include Mystic Bowie, Phoenix Band, Grimm Generation, Marc Huberman and Ports of Spain, among others. Starts at noon and goes until 10:30.
Click it for Cassie Softball Tournament
Calf Pasture Beach
A softball tournament to benefit Click it for Cassie, a foundation dedicated to the importance of seat belts (named in honor of car crash victim Cassie Geary). Admission is free.
Children's Beach Party
Stratford’s Short Beach Island hosts a Pirate Party for children from 11am – 3pm. There will be a live pirate show, games, arts and crafts, a treasure hunt, music and more. Admission is $5 a person, but children two and under get in free. Proceeds will be donated to Connecticut Voices for Children.
The Village Ride
The Village Ride offers a memorable day of cycling and fun through beautiful towns of Litchfield County. Three challenging and beautiful courses are offered: 100K, 50K and a 25K.
A community flea market in The Space's parking lot. You can peruse records, CDs, knick-knacks, hand-made crafty things and more while listening to live music.
The Island Belle
A craft beer boat cruise on the Connecticut Sound! Taste some of the best craft beers from all over the country while enjoying BBQ and other great food. And there will be live music.

Ansonia Nature & Recreation Center
Ranger-led hike along the nature center's trail system.
Sunday Lulu's Rides
Lulu: A European Coffee House
Group bike ride, two to four hours in length, welcomes bicyclists of all ages and abilities. Meet early for breakfast.
