The record for the most valuable sheet music goes towards a song you no doubt have heard: the official national anthem of the United States, "The Star Spangled Banner" by Francis Scott Key. In 2010, one of the merely 11 copies of the original sheet music was auctioned off at Christie's for $506,000. The copy features two pages of engraved musical notes, the complete four stanzas of the album, and (amusingly) a blatant typo: the subheading describes the anthem as "A Pariotic Song".
