A Local Player Leads Vermont Over Lamar in March Madness

Freshman guard Four McGlynn, from Dallastown High School,York County, scored 18 points and the Vermont Catamounts took care of the Lamar Cardinals, 71-59, in the first round of the 2012 NCAA Tournament.

Matt Glass and Sandro Carissimo added 11 and 10 points, respectively, for the Catamounts (24-11), who will face North Carolina, the Midwest Region's top- seed, on Friday.

Vermont, which captured the America East Conference title, has won 15 of its last 16 games.

Devon Lamb ended with 16 points and six rebounds for the Cardinals (23-12), who made their first appearance in the NCAA Tournament since the 1999-2000 season. Mike James had 16 points and Anthony Miles tallied 14 in defeat.
