From time to time, I'll be checking in on some of your favorite CW and WB programs to catch you up on what the stars of those shows have been up to since their departure from the airwaves. Next up...Everwood!
Gregory Smith who played Ephram Brown will star in Copper, a new Canadian-based television drama about five young rookie cops who are just out of the academy. Copper started production in Toronto on July 14th and has been picked up by ABC. 13 episodes will be produced. Copper also features fellow Canadian and former CW star Missy Peregrym who played Andi Prendergast on Reaper (fun fact -- Peregrym plays a character named Andy -- with a "y" in Copper.). Last season, Smith appeared in an episode of ABC's Eli Stone, which like Everwood, was created and produced by Greg Berlanti.
Treat Williams was seen last month in NBC's 4-hour miniseries The Storm. Williams followed up his stint as Dr. Andy Brown (there we go again -- another "Andy") by playing another doctor - Dr. Nate Grant in Heartland, a TNT Network drama that aired for one season in 2007. Fans of Brothers & Sisters will also remember that Williams played David Morton in 4 episodes of that series in 2006. Brothers & Sisters is yet another drama produced by Everwood's Greg Berlanti. Last year, Treat Williams appeared as Ashton Kutcher's father in What Happens In Vegas (Kutcher is currently the Executive Producer of The Beautiful Life: TBL) and will co-star in the movie Howl in 2010.
Emily VanCamp played Amy Abbott, the object of Ephram's affection on Everwood, but currently stars on ABC's Brothers & Sisters as Rebecca Harper. VanCamp will play Esther in the $30 million remake of Ben Hur, now a miniseries coming in 2010. Ben Hur will also feature CW alumnus Kristin Kreuk (Smallville's Lana Lang). VanCamp played a criminal suspect on Law & Order: SVU in 2007 and will co-star with fellow CW alumnus Dan Byrd (Aliens In America's Justin Tolchuk) in the big screen comedy, Norman -- due in theaters later this year.
Chris Pratt who played Bright Abbott now appears on NBC's Parks & Recreation as Andy (holy crap, another Andy). Pratt tied the knot with House Bunny Anna Faris in Bali on July 9th. After Everwood ended Chris Pratt played Che in 9 episodes of The O.C. (the Fox drama that launched the career of The Beautiful Life: TBL's Mischa Barton) and appeared in Bride Wars' (the Kate Hudson/Anne Hathaway comedy). Pratt can be seen in the eagerly awaited Megan Fox comedy horror flick Jennifer's Body next month and will appear opposite Anna Faris and Gossip Girl's Michelle Trachtenberg (Georgina Sparks) in Young Americans, a comedy hitting theaters in January 2010.
Tom Amandes (Dr. Harold Abbott) has appeared in several TV series since Everwood ended -- including Curb Your Enthusiasm, Private Practice, Women's Murder Club, Boston Legal, The Riches and Numb3rs. Amandes most recently starred as law firm owner/partner Martin Posner in Greg Berlanti's Eli Stone, which recently ended a 2-season run on ABC.
Stephanie Niznik (Nina Feeney) played the mom on The CW's short-lived drama Life Is Wild and has also guest-starred in several TV series including Grey's Anatomy, CSI: Miami, Eli Stone, NCIS and Lost.
Vivien Cardone who played Delia Brown appeared in All Roads Lead Home, a 2008 theatrical family drama where she played a young girl trying to cope with the death of her mother. All Roads Home was released on DVD in January 2009. The Port Jefferson, Long Island native is now 16-years-old and will graduate high school next year -- 1 month after her 17th birthday.
