At Jacob Riis Park Thursday night, lifeguards were getting ready for Hurricane Earl.
By 6 p.m. all lifeguard chairs were pushed back.
However, the rough surf and high winds did not deter beach goers. Many walked along the beach and boardwalk while some braved the rough surf.
In nearby Neponsit, things were quiet. Residents PIX 11 News spoke with say they did not do anything specific to prepare for the coming storm. Many were waiting for Hurricane Earl's arrival.
Residents say they hope the storm passes by without doing any damage.Copyright © 2014, The Baltimore Sun
