The Giants and Jets have their slots for the 2010 NFL Draft which begins next Thursday. The Giants (8-8) currently own the 15th overall selection while the Jets (9-7) have the 29th pick out of 32 first round selections.
The Giants first round pick last year was Wide Receiver Hakeem Nicks. With Middle Linebacker Antonio Pierce released in February, the Giants will likely concentrate on filling key holes in their defense. The Jets have been courting LB Jason Taylor but a decision to move north from Miami to New York has not been so cut and dry. Taylor was reportedly offered a two-year deal for $3.5 million following his visit to the Meadowlands earlier this month. The Jets want to know what his plans are before next week's draft. He is currently on vacation in Costa Rica.
The Jets are inviting fans to attend the 2010 Draft Party at the new stadium, the first Jets event that will be open to the public at the team's new home. Green & White fans can watch the 2010 NFL Draft and experience the new stadium at a draft-night party on Thursday, April 22. The party will be held in the Great Hall, located at the 50-yard line entrance to the new building. Fans will be allowed to view the field and shop at the team store.
A free ticket is required for each fan to gain admission to the party. Tickets can be obtained at www.newyorkjets.com. All tickets must be secured in advance of the event and no tickets will be distributed at the stadium on draft day. There is a limit of four tickets per person for this party. Parking lots will open one hour prior to the event.Copyright © 2014, The Baltimore Sun
