Man Arrested For Shooting Teen Girl In Leg At A Party

A 19-year-old man is expected to be arraigned Monday on assault and reckless endangerment charges for shooting another teenager in the leg at a party.

Suffolk County Police arrested Saheam King of Levey Blvd. in Wyandanch on Sunday for the shooting.

Cops responded to a report of a disturbance at a party near the intersection of Tower Street and Allison Court in Huntington Station at about 1:25 a.m. on Sunday, July 11.

When officers arrived, they discovered a 16-year-old girl with a gunshot wound in her leg. She was transported to Huntington Hospital and is expected to recover from her injuries.

Witnesses told cops partygoers were leaving the scene when pockets of fights broke out. But attendees began to flee the party when King fired his gun several times down Tower Street.

King is scheduled for arraignment Monday on second degree assault and first degree reckless endangerment charges at the First District Court in Central Islip.
