Knicks' Harrington Out For Season

Al Harrington's 2009-2010 season officially ended Wednesday when the team announced the forward will have arthroscopic surgery on his right shoulder.

Harrington missed the Knicks' 104-101 win Tuesday night against the Celtics with an ankle injury, but now it's his shoulder that will sideline him for the team's remaining five games.

A Knicks team orthopedist will perform the surgery Thursday. Recovery time is expected to be 3-4 months.

Harrington is second on the Knicks this season in both points and rebounds, averaging 17.7 and 5.6, respectively.

The New Jersey-native is a free agent at the end of this season and has expressed a desire to return to the Knicks. However, given the team's desire for financial flexibility, it appears unlikely that Harrington will be back next season.
