17 TV's Stolen from LI Hotel at Gunpoint

A security guard was held at gunpoint while robbers wearing bandannas stole 17 plasma televisions from a Jericho hotel under construction, Nassau police said.

Around 12:05 a.m. Saturday, the 52-year-old security guard was patrolling the west exterior parking lot of the Hampton Inn being built at 120 Jericho Tpke., police said.

Three men grabbed him from behind and held him at bay with a small silver handgun, while two other cohorts went into the hotel rooms to take the 32-inch LG Plasma televisions, valued at $10,200, police said.

The robbers fled in a dark-colored Jeep eastbound on the Long Island Expressway South Service Road, police said.

Police ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. Callers may remain anonymous.
