Police on Long Island arrested and charged a man for driving while ability impaired by drugs and alcohol after he was involved in a motor vehicle crash with a police car Monday.
According to authorities, William Rodden was driving a 1988 GMC pickup truck towing a boat and trailer on westbound Route 25A in Rocky Point when he made a left turn in front of a Suffolk County police vehicle at the intersection with Eagle Road at 8:35 p.m.
The officer determined Rodden was under the influence of drugs and alcohol and arrested him.
Rodden, 49, was charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs and Alcohol and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance. He was scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip today.Copyright © 2014, The Baltimore Sun
