Nassau County police are on the hunt for a woman and a man, who are accused of stealing a car, crashing it into a Massapequa home and abandoning a 5-year-old girl in the vehicle.

According to police, the crash occurred around 3:54 p.m.on Carmans Road. The girl was reportedly not injured but she was rushed to the hospital where she was held overnight for observation. She was released Tuesday afternoon.

Police are denying reports the little girl had told them her mother's boyfriend was driving the car.

The incident occurred when Nassau County police attempted to stop the 2008 Hyundai, which had been reported stolen in New York City.

The suspects inside the vehicle drove south onto Carmans Road and lost control of the car as they turned onto Northgate. The car smashed into bushes and then into a garage of a house, causing major damage.

No injuries were reported. No arrests have been made.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
