Sharpen up those adamantium claws, charge that light saber, set your phazers to fun and get ready for the Wizard World Comic Convention. Returning for it's second year to the Ernst N. Morial Convention Center this weekend January 28th & 29th. New Orleans is the first stop of Wizard World's comic con tour.
With doors opening at 10AM Saturday and Sunday the days will be filled with all sorts of things to do. Events will include costume contests, a masquerade ball, Krewe of Chewbacchus parades, gaming tournaments such as COD: MW3 or Marvel vs Capcom 3, and Lightsaber Master Classes taught by Star Wars stunt coordinator Nick Gillard for aspiring Jedi in need of training. You can interact with fan groups like the Louisiana Ghostbusters, the Steam Engin Intrepid, D20 Girls, and the 501st Bast Alpha Garrison holding their popular "Shoot the Trooper" benefit.
If that's not enough, how about a chance to meet some of the greats: Stan Lee, William Shatner, Lou Ferrigno, Mary McDonnell, Adam Baldwin, Peter Mayhew and members of The Walking Dead cast. Plus a special reunion with the Boondock Saints' Norman Reedus, Sean Patrick Fanery, and "funnyman" Rocco (David Della Rocco). Panelists such as local artists Kody Chamberlain (Sweets) and John Layman (Chew) sit down to discuss their projects. And get a chance to preview upcoming movies "The Woman in Black" staring Daniel Radclifffe, and the new Disney animated film "The Secret World of Arrietty" based off the novel "The Borrowers." Plus The Wizard World of Terror presents a horror film festival running both days and a special screening of husband and wife team Michael Biehn and Jennifer Blanc's upcoming film "The Victim."
