Fmr. hospital employee admits to stealing files, harassing patients

A former hospital worker admits to stealing patient files, then using the information to harass and threaten patients.

52-year-old Michelle Morrison worked at Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital from February 2011 until she was dismissed in June.

She is charged with forgery and appears in court in Rolling Meadows today.

Morrison told police she wanted to embarass the hospital for terminating her employment there.

She admitted to stealing blank hospital letterheads and envelopes, then sending threatening and vulgar letters to patients.  Police say Morrison also threatened to expose sensitive mental treatments to the patients' family, friends and co-workers.

Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital has not yet commented.
