The Federal Communications Commission has joined with the Rainbow PUSH Coalition to help Chicago-area residents prepare for the transition to digital television that will take place on June 12, 2009. The FCC's role in the partnership is to staff a Consumer Help Center at the Rainbow PUSH Coalition headquarters where consumers can get the latest information about the digital transition, apply for converter box coupons, learn how to install converter boxes, connect antennas, and make adjustments that can provide the best digital TV reception possible.

The Rainbow PUSH Coalition will provide space for the Center at its headquarters located at 930 E. 50th Street, Chicago, IL 60615 and will promote the Help Center at events and meetings and in local speeches and media appearances. The Center will be staffed on Monday evenings from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday mornings from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. beginning on Saturday, April 25.
