To recap: Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa both took steroids the year they both smashed the previous home run record to pieces in 1998. Barry Bonds then, in a fit of rage and jealousy at Sosa and McGwire, then proceeded to take steroids to give him the best shot of taking the record from McGwire and Sosa. Mission accomplished: Bonds would hit 73 home runs in the 2001 season. We all however would be losers in this one as Bonds, Sosa, McGwire and a slew of others would be directly found to, or very strongly alleged to have taken steroids. Even worse, Jose Canseco has been made into a reality star, thanks to his notoriety in using. |
