Decisions, decisions. It's rough when you choose a place to stay in the middle of the theme park capital of the world and the place is so nice that you don't want to leave.
The Fountains resort, located along International Drive in Orlando, offers up just such a conundrum.
If you're staying a week, be sure to set aside a couple of days to just take in the resort, and at the top of the list is its remarkable pool called Wakoola Springs.
The 75,000-square-foot, water park-like tropical oasis sets itself apart from an everyday pool with two twisting water slides, a zero-entry pool, interactive water fountains, two hot tubs, and an on-site bar and grill called Wakoola Grill.
The resort itself rests on 54 acres right on the shores of Lake Eve and within minutes of the Disney, Universal and SeaWorld parks.
You can fish and paddleboat on the lake, or just take in a Florida sunset along the boardwalk and pier. There's a 20,000-square-foot clubhouse with a whole array of activities for kids of all ages and adults including two venues for a drink or a bite to eat.
One of those options is H20, is a water-themed bar offering casual dining with things like buffalo chicken wings and Italian Paninis. The bar has a transfixing backdrop of backlit bubbles.
Also onsite is Mug o' Joe's offering gourmet coffee drinks and fresh-baked breakfast pastries and breakfast Paninis.
The accomodations include two-bedroom villas, most with a screened balcony overlooking the lake, a fully equipped kitchen, garden tub and surround sound stereo system. Also available, although harder to come by, are the all-new 2,725-sq-ft Presidential Suites located in a beautiful new building overlooking Wakoola Springs. The Presidential Suites furnishings and interior design are done by Florida's prestigious Robb & Stucky Interiors. Kitchens feature stainless steel appliances, custom cabinets, and granite countertops. The Fountains three-bedroom suites include your very own game room with a pool table and dartboard, huge balconies, elegant bedrooms, and unique bathrooms that resemble spas.
