"We think that Streamsong will redefine the Florida resort experience," said general manager Richard Mogensen. "The Lodge takes its design cues from our serene natural environment, creating an exclusive setting where discerning travelers can truly get away and focus on important interactions."
Two award-winning golf courses and a clubhouse have been open for a year already, but the new lodge opens Friday. It features 216 guestrooms and suites, a spa and four restaurants.
The courses, Streamsong Red and Streamsong Blue have been ranked among the Top 100 in the nation by Golf Magazine in 2013. The look of the resort and courses is unlike traditional courses since it's built on reclaimed land and surrounded by nothing but nature. There's beauty to be certain, and if you're looking to get away from it all, this may be the place for you.
Beyond golf, activities at the resort play off the natural setting including bass fishing tours, bird-watching nature trails and clay shooting.
The lodge was designed by architect Alberto Alfonso and suites feature floor-to-ceiling glass. The 7,000-square-foot spa features seven therapeutic water treatments including the "arctic cascade" and nine treatment rooms. There's also 24,600 square feet of meeting space.
12 additional guestrooms are at the clubhouse, which is situated between water features to take advantage of both sunrises and sunsets.
It's a luxury resort, so package prices start at around $400 a night. A tee time runs around $200 per person as well. There are golf and room packages for $575 per person per night, based on double occupancy.
