A white Christmas isn't in the Florida forecast, but the Sunshine State does offer its own twist on holiday traditions. With hundreds of miles of ocean coastline and riverfront shores, holiday light shows often take to the water.
Here's a look at some holiday boat parades:
Leesburg's Christmas on the Water, 7 p.m. today: The parade launches from Ski Beach at Venetian Gardens in Leesburg; 352-326-8274.
Port Canaveral Christmas Boat Parade, 5:30 p.m. Monday: "A Creative Christmas" boat parade can be viewed from any of the restaurants at Port Canaveral; 321-403-5769; visitportcanaveral.com.
Christmas on the Water, Eustis, 7-9 p.m. Friday: The Eustis Main Street lighted boat parade travels along the waterfront of Lake Eustis; 352-483-1217.
Holiday Regatta of Lights, St. Augustine, 6 p.m. Saturday: A holiday parade of boats including sailboats, trawlers, shrimp boats and others will light up St. Augustine's Matanzas Bay between the Bridge of Lions and Castillo de San Marcos; 904-824-9725.
26th Annual Illuminated Boat Parade, St. Petersburg, 6 p.m. Saturday: The parade travels from Bayboro, in front of the Pier, around Vinoy Basin and into Tampa Bay; 727-822-3277; email@example.com.
St. Johns River Christmas Boat Parade, 6 p.m. Saturday: Annual parade runs along the St. Johns from Catfish Bend (Marker 36) north of Whitehair Bridge to the north end of Lake Beresford in DeLand; visitwestvolusia.com.
Winter Park Boat Parade Festival of Lights, 6:45 p.m. Saturday: The boat parade will begin on Lake Virginia and continue through Palm Canal to Lake Osceola for judging at the viewing spot on the grounds of the Albin Polasek Museum in Winter Park; cityofwinterpark.org.
Space Coast Christmas Boat Parade, 6 p.m. Dec. 15: The boat parade proceeds along the Indian River past Historic Cocoa Village Riverside Park and South Rockledge Drive; visitportcanaveral.com.
