With four to six feet of fresh snow, Mammoth Mountain is opening the entire hill today (Friday) — all lifts, Canyon and Eagle lodges and all terrain . . . . The latest round of powerful, early-season storms has pushed Tahoe’s season-to-date snowfall totals to well over the 100-inch mark entering the month of December . . . .Walt Disney World opened its new Fantasyland on Thursday, the largest expansion in the park's 41-year history. The project includes new and reimagined attractions inspired by classic Disney stories and characters like Dumbo, “Beauty and the Beast” and “The Little Mermaid.” The expansion also preserved many longstanding favorite attractions like Cinderella Castle and the ride based on “It's a Small World” . . . . . The musical group Celtic Thunder, in L.A. this week to perform, has announced its  first cruise next year, Nov. 2-7, Miami-Ocho Rios-Grand Cayman.  Multiple configurations of Celtic Thunder will hold concerts onboard nightly. AP reports that a crew from the Travel Channel will be in Santa Claus, Ind., this weekend to film the town's 22-foot Santa Claus statue and Santa's Candy Castle. Both opened in December 1935. Joseph Elevado has been named executive chef of Andrea’s, the new restaurant opening Dec. 28 at Encore in Las Vegas . . . .
