Princess Cruises now has a "pocket of tranquility" to offer passengers on all of its 14 cruise ships.
The Sapphire Princess was the last ship of the fleet to receive the adults-only retreat the Sanctuary, it took three years for Princess Cruises to reach its goal of adding the feature to all the ships in its fleet. The Sanctuary was not added to the two Princess Cruises small ships.
The Sanctuary first debuted on the Crown Princess in 2006. It features massage cabanas, signature drinks, light meals, personal entertainment and service provided by "serenity stewards."
The addition won't be the last for the Sapphire Princess the ship will undergo renovations from Jan. 7, 2012 to Feb. 4, 2012 while it is in drydock. Scheduled renovations include the addition of the Piazza atrium which includes an International Café and a wine bar; a pizzeria; and a movie screen by the pool.
