Hop on the Caribbean Railway tour-the train uses the same rails and route that was used to collect the sugarcane from the plantations. After a short bus ride through small towns and villages, you'll arrive at a small guage railway loop. The train tour is a double decker train (top open air) that takes you through the countryside, near the isolated and empty beaches, through small villages and towns, and ends near the airport. Riders have a choice of seating and a choice of alcoholic or non-alcoholic drinks are included in the cost of the tour. The servers on the train are also a cappela singers and they sing local island tunes during the ride. A shuttle will take you back to the port.
The train tour is inexpensive and a wonderful way to see parts of the island that many tourists miss altogether; however be warned that near the end of the tour, the train passes by the trash dump near the airport and the ocean. The natural beauty of the island and the ugliness of human trash reside together on the island.
