SeaWorld Orlando is preparing this year's version of its Halloween Spooktacular, which kicks off Oct. 6.
The kid-friendly event carries a "sea" theme, and it's included in regular park admission. Plus it's another chance for little ones to show off their Halloween costumes.
Spooktacular again includes Penelope's Party Zone, featuring a DJ, interactive games and characters for children. There will be 15 trick-or-treat stations sprinkled throughout the park's Bayside area, along with a treat-decorating area.
It's the busiest time of year for SeaWorld's walk-around characters such as pumpkin fish, mermaids, spider-crabs and penguins plus Dolly Dolphin, Shivers the Polar Bear and Shamu, all available for photo opportunities.
Spooktacular operates from noon to 8 p.m. Event dates are Oct. 6,7, 13, 14, 19, 20, 21, 26, 27 and 28.
SeaWorld also offers overnight sleepovers for families near the giant aquariums built into the Manta roller coaster. It's designed for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. It costs $78 per person. A $103 option includes next-day park admission. The ticket includes a pizza dinner and breakfast. Event dates are Oct. 19, 20, 26 and 27.
