The "Avengers Super Heroes Half Marathon Weekend" will debut Nov. 14-16 at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, Calif. The event marks the first super hero collaboration since Walt Disney Co. acquired Marvel Entertainment, Marvel Worldwide's parent company, in 2009.
The event will include kids races, a 5K and other events, leading up to the 13.1-mile race on Nov. 16. Registration opens March 25.
"We couldn’t be more excited about this Super Hero collaboration to create this new runDisney race weekend for runners everywhere," senior vice president of Disney Sports Enterprises and Downtown Disney Tom Wolber said in a release.
"Our runDisney events continue to be hugely popular and by joining forces with the Avengers brand, we expect this race will appeal to an even broader range of runners in Southern California whom we hope will see this event as the perfect opportunity to unleash their inner Super Hero in a race to a personal triumph."
The race weekend will be the eighth runDisney event and the third at Disneyland Resort.
The next runDisney event at Walt Disney World will be the Expedition Everest Challenge at Disney's Animal Kingdom May 3.
