Walt Disney World Parks has released new photos of the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, a new family-friendly roller coaster that will debut in Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom Park later this year.
The photos, released by Walt Disney Imagineering, were shared as part of the Disney Parks Blog "All in the Details" series, which has also given sneak peeks and behind the scenes looks at other attractions and pieces of the new Fantasyland, including Princess Fairytale Hall and the addition of Beast’s Castle and Prince Eric’s Castle.
The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train will tell the story of “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” from the perspective of the dwarfs, taking riders on an indoor-and-outdoor trip, with side-to-side swaying cars. Disney officials have said that the intensity of the coaster will be between that of sister Magic Kingdom coasters Barnstormer and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.
Disney had previously said the new ride would be done in spring 2014, but recently, there has been no mention of a target opening date.
Disney's New Fantasyland has been opened in stages since 2012. The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train will be the final attraction in the new area, according to the Dinsey Parks Blog.
Fantasyland, the largest expansion ever for Magic Kingdom, currently features two sections -- the Enchanted Forest and Storybook Circus -- which include the dueling Dumbo rides, Enchanted Tales with Belle, Under the Sea ~ Journey of the Little Mermaid, The Barnstormer and Casey Jr. Splash 'N' Soak Station. Fantasyland also features popular dining spots, like Gaston's Tavern and Be Our Guest Restaurant.
