Looks like there will be no shortage of sweet sensations at Gaston's Tavern, an eatery set to open in the Fantasyland expansion at Magic Kingdom later this year.
The signature drink will be LeFou's Brew, the Disney Parks Blog said Tuesday. Imagine frozen apple juice ("no sugar added") with a bit of marshmallow taste and topped with passion fruit-mango foam. There will be souvenir steins and goblets with images of Belle and Gaston — central characters in "Beauty and the Beast" — for sale with the drink. Prices were not given by Disney.
LeFou is Gaston's bumbling sidekick in the film. The drink, under the name Red's Apple Freeze, has been for sale at Cars Land at Disney California Adventure theme park.
Also available at Gaston's: gooey cinnamon rolls, Disney says.
Gaston's will be in the part of Fantasyland that is scheduled for a Dec. 6 grand opening, but soft openings and previews are expected in November. It will be a quick-service restaurant, but its complete menu has not been revealed yet.
For the record, although it's called a tavern, it will not offer beer or alcohol, just like the rest of Magic Kingdom.
